Boost Mobile Offers Gustav Hit Customers Relief

Boost Mobile, a division of Sprint (News - Alert) Corporation, has announced that it will provide its customers living in Louisiana and Texas with relief from traveling charges, in order to enable a convenient transition for those displaced by Hurricane Gustav.
The traveling fee of 15 cents per minute payable for all calls made outside of the normal home-calling area (HCA) will be relaxed for all Boost Mobile customers in the New Orleans and South Texas HCAs.
The New Orleans HCA is comprised of the greater New Orleans metropolitan region, while the South Texas HCA encompasses the greater McAllen, Corpus Christi and Laredo metropolitan region.
Boost Mobile, a part of Sprint Corporation, provides wireless phones and services with no contracts, credit checks or activation fees. About four million customers, mostly comprising of people between 18 and 34 years of age, make Boost a known prepaid wireless brand in the U.S.

Matt Carter, president of Boost Mobile, said he was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and his parents still live there, so he knows it first hand how hurricanes can disrupt the lives of family and friends.
Carter noted that Boost Mobile wants to quickly get the word out to its customers in Louisiana and Texas, who may need to temporarily relocate out of the area, and provide them with some relief during this difficult time, hence the company has decided to relax the traveling fee.
Boost Mobile has been involved in supporting various social and charitable organizations locally and nationally, and the company provides in-kind donations of phones and service apart from direct financial support and employee volunteerism to these organizations. The company primarily concentrates its support towards education, life experiences, health and other programs for enabling young people to enhance their lives.
