US Marine Base Adds Intelli-Check Mobilisa's Defense ID Security
By Anil Sharma TMCnet Contributing Editor
Intelli-Check - Mobilisa has installed Defense ID security equipment at a US Marine base.
The value of the recent contract was approximately $160,000 for equipment, installation and training.
The Defense ID system was delivered to Marine Corps Base (MCB) Quantico in Virginia. Quantico received the new IM2525 advanced ID-scan system that is equipped with improved imagers that scan ID cards much quicker than previous systems.
MCB Quantico since its inception in 1917 has been the "frontline of innovation." Marine concepts, doctrine, training and equipment of the future are initiated at Quantico and it is home to Marine Corps University, Officer Candidate School and the FBI's training center.
"We've stopped over 50,000 bad guys with Defense ID while making access to the base faster," said Steve Williams, Intelli-Check – Mobilisa’s COO, in a statement.
Intellicheck Mobilisa is a technology company, developing and marketing wireless technology and identity systems for various applications including: mobile and handheld wireless devices for the government, military and commercial markets.
Products include the Defense ID systems, an advanced ID card access control product currently protecting over 50 military and federal locations. ID-Check is a technology that instantly reads, analyzes, and verifies encoded data in magnetic stripes and barcodes on government-issue IDs from approximately 60 U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions to determine if the content and format are valid.
Intelli-Check - Mobilisa, Inc. earlier in July this year had announced that it has been awarded an initial 12-month contract from L.L.Bean, Inc., to install desktop kiosks in approximately 30 retail stores across the U.S.
The ID Check/IM 750 system will be used in stores to aid in the process of L.L.Bean’s private label credit card applications check.
“Our ID card reading technology makes credit applications faster, easier and gives customers peace of mind by not having to write down personal information on a piece of paper, thus reducing identity theft. This is a great example of how we work with major retailers to provide improved and secure services to their customers,” said Dr. Nelson Ludlow, CEO of Intelli-Check – Mobilisa.
Electronic forms have great appeal because they eliminate the need for handling paper applications. Intelli-Check - Mobilisa’s ID Check BHO (Browser Helper Object) makes electronic forms processing even more appealing by automating the process of checking government-issued photo ID’s such as driver licenses, non-driver ID’s, and military IDs.
It enhances productivity and data integrity by eliminating key-entry, and it improves the customer experience by making the credit application process much more secure.
