By Divya Narain TMCnet Contributing Editor
Tranzeo Wireless Technologies Inc., a maker of wireless broadband and WiMAX (News - Alert) communication systems, has informed that it has received Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approval for its 3.5GHz WiMAX subscriber units in the United States for the semi-licensed band from 3.65-3.7GHz. The FCC recently opened this spectrum for licensing by wireless ISPs.
The FCC approval includes the TR-WMX-3.5-N, TR-WMX-3.5-17, and TR-WMX-3.5-20 subscriber units. With this the deployment of Tranzeo (News - Alert) product in the U.S. will pick up through a rising number of WiMAX service providers and network operators. The Tranzeo equipment for customer premises has been found to be compatible with main WiMAX base station technologies including Redline's RedMAX suite, which has also been approved for this band by the FCC.
"Achieving regulatory approvals in the U.S. creates new opportunities for Tranzeo's WiMAX equipment and our base station partners," said Dave Gelvin (News - Alert), president of Tranzeo Wireless USA.
"Interoperability among WiMAX vendors is one of the most important criteria among operators when selecting their WiMAX technology," said Kevin Suitor, Vice President, Marketing and Business Development, Redline Communications (News - Alert) Inc. "By testing products under the Redline Ecosystem Verification (REV) program, Redline, along with vendors like Tranzeo, can deliver a range of solutions to meet specific operators needs."
With its cost effectiveness, premium quality and responsive support, Tranzeo Wireless boasts 2,465 dealers and 15 distributors. British Columbia, Canada based Tranzeo offers a wide range of point-to-point and point-to-multipoint radios, WiMAX equipment, and mesh network solutions to wireless internet service providers, governments, campuses, military, carriers, enterprise customers, and systems integrators worldwide.
