Tech Data and Zenith Infotech Enables Resellers Adopt Managed Services
By Shamila Janakiraman TMCnet Contributing Editor
Tech Data (News - Alert) Corporation and Zenith Infotech have recruited several resellers for attending webinars and seminars so that they will learn ways to adopt managed services and capitalize on recurring high margin revenue.
At the Tech Data’s Spring TechSelect Partner Conference in Las Vegas the companies announced a trial offer of Zenith’s managed data backup and disaster recovery solution. This will enable resellers and sales and technical staff to familiarize themselves with the solutions for introducing managed data backup and disaster recovery services to customers.
“The Zenith data backup and disaster recovery promotion is an opportunity for resellers to get hands-on with managed services and learn what it takes to build a managed services practice,” said Joe Quaglia, Tech Data Senior Vice President, U.S.
“Enablement like this is a key component of Tech Data’s support for resellers adopting managed services. Moving forward, we’ll continue collaborating with partners like Zenith to develop the sales, technical and marketing initiatives our customers need to make the most of this exciting and profitable services opportunity,” he added.
Akash Saraf, CEO, Zenith Infotech pointed out that the most compelling aspect of Zenith backup and disaster recovery is how it delivers a solution that all businesses need as a managed service. Leading with backup and recovery is an excellent way for resellers to introduce managed services to end users. In many cases it opens those accounts to more advanced remote network monitoring, which provides more services revenue for resellers.
Zenith’s managed backup and disaster recovery solutions introduce managed services to SMB accounts, and they are also a lucrative annuity stream and source of recurring revenue. Several accounts can be supported with these solutions providing customers with peace of mind as they know that their critical data is protected.
Zenith’s data backup and disaster recovery solution is a network-attached storage (NAS) device which is configured according to Zenith’s proprietary managed services applications. Business continuity is ensured through virtual server restoration and by on-site and off-site duplication of critical data. Zenith will manage the deployed device at the customer’s location from its East Coast network operations center.
The NAS device alerts the reseller instantly when a server fails besides providing continuous data backup. When they are proceeding to the customer location to address the problem resellers can request Zenith to create a virtual server remotely to replicate the faulty hardware which will allow uninterrupted business like accessing email.
Several models are available to resellers like the base model with 400 gigabytes of storage and which can back up a single server. The Xtreme model has 2 terabytes of storage and can back up as many as 10 servers.
