Amika Mobile teams up with Firehot Solutions Inc. to offer E-mail to SMS Service

Amika Mobile (News - Alert) and Firehot Solutions today announced their partnership agreement to offer key Email-to-SMS content for any mobile phone on the Firehot Mobile-Message portal.
Firehot’s mobile Internet service provides a cost-effective critical E-mail to SMS solution for consumers and business users at 10 percent of the cost of typical mobile messaging solutions. It supports mobile message alerts from multiple email accounts, which includes Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Rogers and Sympatico, allowing users to monitor and read email content from anywhere, at anytime, and any place on any mobile phone from any carrier in North America.
Sue Abu-Hakima, Amika Mobile president and CEO, in a release, said: "The killer application for mobile phones is messaging, where over 215 billion e-mails and 500 billion SMS text messages are exchanged each and every day. Firehot Solutions service allows any mobile user to receive and respond to key emails promptly through SMS, increasing their productivity and boosting business performance. This capability is particularly important for small businesses or work from home users who cannot afford to pay high data fees and do not want to have all their emails flooding their mobile phones."
