Equals Chooses Voxeo Prophecy Platform for 'Party Line' on Facebook

) and VoIP applications, announced that Equals has chosen the Voxeo Prophecy Platform for developing and delivering its new Party Line application on Facebook (News - Alert).
The Party Line offers the addition of voice capabilities to social networking by allowing group phone chats which can be started by a mouse click from Facebook. Also Facebook members can dial 877 4 BUZZ ME from their mobile phones. Equals will in turn dial and add other users to the party Line.
The California-based Equals is an unified communications company specializing in social communications. Equals adds user-centric dimensions to communication services and social networking thereby redefining communications.
One Party Line can include up to five people and there is no limit to the number of Party Lines that can be created for different groups. The setting up of the Party Line is easy, free and does not require any downloads, conference bridge numbers or passcodes to keep in memory.
For the development and delivery of the Party Line application Equals chose Voxeo’s SIP-based Prophecy Platform. Standards like VoiceXML (News - Alert) enabled Equals to offer web interface to the telephone. Voxeo’s CCXML (Call Control XML) engine helped develop the Party Line’s conferencing and IP telephony capabilities with communication through SIP, besides with no complexities of low level coding.

Although Facebook is distributing Equal’s Party Line, the application can work with open standards like OpenSocial for distribution as a widget on social networks and web destinations which use OpenSocial.
