Rosum Secures $15M in Financing to Fuel Growth in Mobile TV and Home Telecommunications Markets

Rosum (News - Alert) Corporation has announced it has recieved $15 million in new financing from several sources inlcuding new investor TruePosition, a subsidiary of Liberty Media Corporation. The company also received financing from other investors such as Charles River Ventures, Allegis Capital, Steamboat Ventures and KTB Ventures.
Rosum has positioned itself as the first and only company to use the broadcast TV infrastructure and provide location and timing solutions to solve the problem of avoiding the technological hinderence indoors and in urban canyons cause.
Rosum is also the first company to combine TV and GPS signals for truly robust hybrid positioning in all environments. Rosum’s founding team includes the original architects of the GPS constellation. The partners of the company include Intel (News - Alert), 2Wire Inc., Trimble and The Boeing Company.

By 2011, analysts project that as many as 446 million mobile TV handsets will be shipped globally. Rosum’s TV-positioning technology enables location-based services such as search, advertising, and security with its software-only solution for device makers deploying TV-capable mobile devices and for mobile TV network operators and for wireless operators supporting mobile TV handsets.
