EasyNAC Appliances Manufactured by NetClarity have been Tested and Certified by The Tolly Group
By Calvin Azuri TMCnet Contributing Editor
NetClarity (News - Alert) says the Tolly Group has tested and certified the functionality of its Enterprise and SMB line of appliances. This range includes the EasyNAC Enterprise, EasyNAC Branch and Endpoint Defender products.
"When many first hear about the capabilities of EasyNAC they tend to think, 'At that price, there has to be a catch.' To have such an established name as Tolly certifying our features add to the mounting evidence that it really isn't too good to be true," said Gary Miliefsky, founder and chief technology officer of NetClarity.
NetClarity’s EasyNAC Enterprise can protect up to 2048 network assets and, additionally, its installation and implementation works out to being less than $19,995, according ot the company. Another feature is the incorporated EasyNAC technology; this enables organizations to retain their older NAC solutions. Avoiding this step knocks the cost of installation approximately 20 times.
"Tolly Group engineers examined NetClarity's EasyNAC Enterprise and EasyNAC Branch vulnerability management appliances and Endpoint Defender security solution and determined that it delivers effective security through proactively discovering and managing CVEs, and providing network admission control, remediation workflow and regulatory compliance audit tools in an easy to deploy and easy to manage solution," states the Tolly Group report.
The Tolly Group engineers examined and approved seven functions of NetClarity products, which were as follows: Asset discovery and classification, Asset inventory monitoring and alerts, "On demand" and "scheduled asset audits across multiple IP
sub networks, Regulatory compliance reports in various formats, Dynamic endpoint quarantine using firewall and smart switch integration (when using supported firewall/smart switch hardware), Automatic Vulnerability Signatures and/or Software Updates, and PCI Security Standards Council-approved scanning equipment.
Also, the Endpoint Defender was checked for 3 features, namely, Automatic Vulnerability Signatures and/or Software Updates, Real-time protection for malware, and Real-time "anomaly-based" detection and protection against zero-day attacks.
Just a month ago, NetClarity introduced an addition to their EasyNAC range, with EasyNAC Micro. This is a handheld device that provides a less expensive alternative, costing a mere $1,000.
A one-page summary of The Tolly Group report has been published in a special March 10th issue of NetworkWorld.
