Jott Intros Voice Options for BlackBerry Users

Jott Networks has announced the ability to reply to emails using its voice-to- text technology on BlackBerry (News - Alert) smartphones from Research In Motion (RIM). Mobile professionals can leverage the new application to verbally reply to email messages quickly and easily.

John Pollard, Jott Networks CEO noted in a statement that staying on top of email is beneficial for people on the move. He explained that reply with Jott can dramatically increase the speed and richness of replying to email, and frees up time for other things. Reply with Jott is consistent with their company’s goal to provide mobile professionals with simple organization and communications solutions that fit within their workflow.

BlackBerry smartphone customers with Jott accounts can download a small application file from the Jott.com website that currently works with all major mobile carriers in the U.S. and Canada. The customers will notice "Reply with Jott" in the full email reply menu once the application has been successfully installed. The customer picks "Reply with Jott" and simply speaks his or her message when ready.

Once the reply is converted to text by Jott, it is then seamlessly integrated into the email and sent to the intended recipient(s). Jott Networks says that currently Jott for BlackBerry is in free Beta and available for BlackBerry 8800, BlackBerry Curve and BlackBerry Pearl Series smartphones.

Headquartered in Seattle, WA, Jott Networks operates a voice to text service that makes staying organized and in touch easy. Last year, the company announced the ability to create Google (News - Alert) Calendar appointments while away from the PC by using one's voice. Jott.com's free voice-to-text service will link users directly to Google Calendar after a simple set up.
