SkyCross (News - Alert), a global wireless company providing antenna-centric RF solutions, has announced that its antennas are embedded in the Wireless Earphones designed and manufactured by Fujikon Industrial Holdings Ltd. the electroacoustic products designer and manufacturer based in Hong Kong.

 

SkyCross antennas — especially designed to operate in Fujikon’s Wireless Earphones — offers design freedom while providing “superior performance, small size, and low-power consumption.” According to SkyCross representatives, the technology in the earphones is also applicable to connect headsets or speakers wirelessly to a variety of audio sources including portable audio players, media players and home audio and theater systems.

 

Fujikon states that the Wireless Earphones are the first such products completely untethered from each other and the audio source while providing CD-quality stereo sound in a very small form factor.

 

“Fujikon is an industry leader in the development of cutting-edge audio products,” Dr. Chris Morton, CEO at SkyCross, commented in a press release. “We are happy to work with Fujikon to bring award-winning wireless capability to audio products.”

 

Indicating that the superior antenna performance provided by the SkyCross solution helped his company create an innovative product, Johnny Yeung, Chairman at Fujikon, added “In addition, SkyCross has provided excellent technical expertise and support from the design stage to production. The Fujikon product is one of many SkyCross enabled devices stated to be the first of their kind. According to reports, SkyCross designed the first embedded antennas for flip phones, 3G data cards, and now wireless earphones. In addition, SkyCross technology also has been featured in the devices for network launches including mobile video standards — T-DMB, DVB-H, S-DMB — and WiMAX.

 

Last month, Wireless Earphones by Fujikon received the Gold Award for Outstanding Innovation & Technology Products at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair. The award is organized by the Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association (HKEIA) and judged by a diverse panel including CEOs from electronics companies, university professors, and representatives from the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks organization.
