InnoPath Partners with O3SIS to Provide iMDM Based Backup & Restore Solution

InnoPath Software (News - Alert), a leading provider of Mobile Device Management (MDM) Solutions, has entered into an agreement with O3SIS which is expected to bring to market a complete Integrated Mobile (News - Alert) Device Management (iMDM)-based Backup and Restore solution.
In recent times, operators have been migrating from MDM deployment—firmware over the air (FOTA) and configuration management—to focus on enabling new revenue generating applications. The major issue with services— like Lock and Wipe, Backup and Restore, and Anti-Virus/Firewall—is the capability to provide end to end lifecycle security management through the iMDM platform.
The partnership will enable InnoPath to offer consumer and enterprise customers the Backup and Restore capability as another advantage of its iMDM suite. This will help in security of data storage, reduced churn and minimized revenue loss when devices are lost, stolen, or upgraded, and convenience through a remote over-the-air approach.
The coming together of two technological abilities—enhancing “iMDM Lock and Wipe capabilities” with “Backup and Restore”—ensure that if a misplaced or stolen device falls into wrong hands, it is nothing more than a brick. As the device can be locked and secured in an instant, or wiped clean altogether with the ability to restore and retrieve data at another point in time if the phone is found or the subscriber buys a replacement.
Cologne, Germany-based O3SIS is a leader in the Backup and Restore space. It serves more than twenty leading implementations in productions with the leading European operators, like Vodafone (News - Alert), T-Mobile, O2 and others.
In a statement, Bernd Rützel, Chief Sales Officer O3SIS, stated, “Mobile Backup and Restore provides peace of mind for the end-customers of mobile operators and builds on the importance to drive additional revenue-generating voice, messaging and data applications.”
In a press release, David Ginsburg, VP of marketing and product management at InnoPath, said, “The MDM platform plays a critical role in lifecycle customer management. The Backup and Restore solution rounds out a comprehensive security solution based on our industry-leading iMDM Server Suite.”
