HauteSpot Networks Intros HauteWind Wireless Internet Weather Station Appliance

HauteSpot Networks Corporation has launched its new HauteWind Wireless Internet Weather Station Appliance product family. As complete weather station appliances, the indoor or outdoor models require nothing other than a broadband connection to gather and publish weather statistics on the Internet.

Now users don’t have to supply a dedicated personal computer to make weather station information available on the Internet. Weather data gathering from almost any location is easy and economical by using this use friendly Internet appliance.

HauteSpot Networks explained that the new HauteWind Wireless Internet Weather Station Appliance HR-IXPWINDi indoor model is ideal for home, school or office use. While the weather sensors are mounted outside, typically on a roof, a simple to install two wire connections is made between the sensors and the indoor controller. By using either an Ethernet wired connection or an 802.11 a/b/g wireless connection users can connect the controller to the Internet.

HauteWind Wireless Internet Weather Station Appliance has the ability to automatically configure itself to the network. According to HauteSpot Networks, this capability for wireless operation means associating itself to the user’s home or office access point. In contrast, for wired operation, this means grabbing a DHCP supplied configuration from the user’s broadband router.

Users have the option to then configure the unit to either function as a stand-alone system viewable through any web browser, or push data to a Web site, Weather Underground, HAMWeather, the Citizen Weather Observer Program, or software clients running on PCs or PDAs.

An IP camera can also be attached to the Ethernet port of the HauteWind Wireless Internet Weather Station Appliance. Additionally, the system can support an Internet firewall and port forwarding access to the camera. Moreover, the system includes an application to overlay weather sensor data onto the IP camera video image.

The company further explained that the outdoor version of the HauteWind HR-WIND Wireless Internet Weather Station Appliance is the ideal solution for outdoor applications, where broadband connectivity may not be locally available. This 802.11 protocol device is available in a range of high gain radio configurations, including unlicensed and public safety bands and can be placed miles from the nearest broadband connection. The HauteWind HR-WIND Wireless Internet Weather Station Appliance can be configured as a client node where Wireless Internet Service Providers have a footprint
The HauteWind HR-WIND can be used with a HauteSpot HR-WRAPSX or HR-IXPDX base station on a private wireless network. This extends the weather monitoring miles from the nearest broadband connection.

HauteSpot Networks Corporation designs, sells, and supports wireless broadband solutions meeting the unique requirements of the broadcast, surveillance, public safety, public utilities, and military markets.
