Verizon Offers Online Security Service to All Internet Users
By Stefania Viscusi Assignment Desk Editor
As the amount of threats posed by Internet use increases daily, Verizon (News - Alert) has announced their bid, in October, national Cyber Security Awareness Month, to provide all users, regardless of their Internet service provider, with an easy to use service that keeps computers safe from viruses, spyware and hackers.
Verizon offers access to the Verizon Internet Security Suite featuring anti-spyware, anti-virus, firewall
and other privacy parental and control management options via their online security portal so it's easy for users to make use of the benefits offered from an Internet connection, without having to worry about causing harm to their computer or risking loss of their personal, confidential information.
Verizon's Internet Security Suite, delivered through their partnership with managed Internet services provider Radialpoint, is being offered for free, for the first month, and with a $4.99 monthly fee for up to three PCs.
The service frees users of the hassle of having to learn how to utilize complicated software suites and instead "run's behind the scenes" whenever the computer is on—updating every three hours and including 24 x7 technical support if its needed, keeping users protected against all the newest threats.
"As the volume and complexity of assaults on PCs and personal information grow, so too does the need for security services that adapt and proactively protect against these attacks," commented Bill Heilig, vice president for Verizon Broadband Solutions.
"With simple installation, updates every few hours, and no need to download or renew updated software, Verizon's Internet Security Suite finds threats fast, isolates problems and eliminates them," Heilig also said.
