Aastra Telecom Bolsters Its 5i Series SIP Telephone Portfolio Via the
51i

Aastra Telecom, a provider of traditional and VoIP communication
products and systems, announced that it has expanded its 5i Series of
standards-based VoIP telephones with the launch of the 51i. With the
addition of this smartly featured single line IP phone, end users will
now have access to one of the most complete portfolio offerings of SIP
desktop and wireless phones in the industry.
Featuring a global design, LCD display screen and full duplex
speakerphone, the 51i also incorporates productivity enhancing features
that can be found on all of Aastra's existing SIP telephones including;
an embedded XML browser, dual auto-sensing switched Ethernet ports and
a simplified deployment and upgrade design. Continuing a commitment to
interoperability, the 51i, as part of the 5i Series, has undergone and
successfully completed certification testing with many of the leading
IP Telephony call server platforms making it appeal to a wide range of
SMB and Enterprise customers.
Designed to meet the demand for a value priced entry level SIP phone,
the single line 51i is ideally suited for light use in small and medium
business, or institutional applications such as lobbies, common areas
or single user environments. The 51i delivers an excellent mix of value
and performance in a carrier/enterprise grade quality IP phone and fits
in well with the rest of the 5i family that offers enhanced features
and functionality.
The 5i Series now consists of five telephones and two expansion modules;
51i Entry level single line set with 3 line/16 character display and 9
configurable speed dial keys using the number keypad
53i Featured set with 3 line/16 character display and 4 programmable
keys. Compatible with up to three 536M expansion modules
55i Advanced Featured set with 144 x 75 backlit LCD display, up to 26
programmable function capability. Compatible with up to three 560M or
536M expansion modules
57i Full Featured set with 144 x 128 backlit LCD display, up to 30
programmable function capability. Compatible with up to three 560M or
536M expansion modules
57i CT All the features of the Aastra 57i plus integrated cordless base
providing VoIP mobility employing secure 2.4GHz Frequency Hopped Spread
Spectrum technology
536M Expansion Module with 36 programmable keys
560M Expansion Module with LCD Screen and 60 programmable keys
Organizations that are migrating to a converged IP environment whether
it is Hosted VoIP, a Premised based IP-PBX / Hybrid PBX or Open Source
PBX will be able to find an Aastra IP Telephone perfectly suited to
meet their needs.
